Volunteers Needed to Provide Free Tax Returns with Training from United Way Are you one of those numbers people? Do you like to help people? Would you like to learn how to prepare tax returns and then help others who cannot do it on their own and can’t afford to pay a professional for tax help?
Neighbor by Neighbor in partnership with United Way is looking for at least five or six volunteers to train for the upcoming tax season. What is involved is three consecutive weekly training sessions typically on a Tuesday or Thursday from 6:00–8:30 p.m. United Way of- fers the free training and also supplies note- book computers with the tax–prep software for each volunteer. Free tax return services will then be available to anyone in the community beginning in early February. Exact dates and times will be determined once the training starts.
If you are interested in finding out what is in- volved, an informational meeting will be scheduled in early December. Contact Linnea Berg at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 269–469– 1441. Also indicate whether you prefer training on a Tuesday or Thursday evening.
